General Scrapbooks, 1920/21-1953/54
The early history of Juilliard and its productions is documented extensively in seventy-one scrapbooks containing a variety of materials and formats, the most common being newspaper articles that the school acquired through clippings service subscriptions. Also included are photographs, press materials, programs, advertisements, and telegrams. The scrapbooks were produced with much care and attention to detail; decorative handwritten notes were added to designate subjects and other identifiers, and table of contents and indexes were created for the majority of the volumes. Digitization of these scrapbooks was supported by the Leon Levy Foundation.
